I’M RUNNING BECAUSE I HAVE THE SKILLS AND PASSION TO ENSURE THAT ALL STUDENTS IN THE WAYZATA SCHOOL DISTRICT CAN EXPERIENCE EXCELLENCE.
Why I'm Running
I'm a Mom of 2 first graders at Oakwood Elementary, and when we moved here from Boston in 2014, we chose our house because it was in the Wayzata School District.
Our experiences with the schools have been phenomenal, but I've observed and heard from other families that our communities, and the kids, are changing. There are a lot of new families - especially those with young children - who need to be advocated for and connected with as they join our expanding schools. New parents bring new ideas and new concerns - that we need to consider and address their dreams and goals. The challenges our students face today in terms of job preparedness, academic and extracurricular competition, and technological savvy, aren't resolved and are ever increasing.
Excellence is a moving target. And the goals that got us to be a top district aren't going to be the same goals to keep us at this elite level.
If we want to SUSTAIN GREATNESS – we need to keep changing to meet the needs of the families and the students of Wayzata Public Schools so that we can achieve the mission of excellence, for each and every student.
So vote for the fresh voice. Vote for Seanne Falconer for Wayzata School Board.
